happy easter!

did you decorate your easter twigs?

‘virpominen’ is a finnish easter tradition that takes place a week before easter, on palm sunday. children dressed as witches go from door to door, performing chants and giving away brightly decorated willow twigs. as a payment, they get chocolate eggs, sweets and sometimes money put into the baskets that they carry.

"virvon, varvon, wishing you a fresh, healthy upcoming year. a sprig for you, a reward for me!"
