i'm not sure what to call these in english, but in finnish they are called 'mokkapalat' which translates to something like mocha bites or mocha pieces. in finland you always get them at children's parties, as they are dead easy to make and always turn out ok.
mocha bites
5dl flour
4 eggs
3dl sugar
2dl milk
200g melted butter
3tbsp cocoa powder
3tsp baking powder
2tsp vanilla sugar
melt butter and let it cool down. beat eggs and sugar until mixture has thickened and turned very pale yellow. mix all dry ingredients together and whisk into the egg-sugar mixture in 3 batches, alternating with the milk. then pour in melted butter and whisk until combined.
pour into a large oven tray that is lined with baking paper and bake in 200 degrees for 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. let cool on a wire rack.
icing

50g melted butter
5tbsp strong coffee
1tbsp cocoa powder
2tsp vanilla sugar
for the icing mix all ingredients until smooth, then spread quickly on the cake and sprinkle with nonpareils.
